More details emerge as fans continue to mourn the loss of Luke Fleurs

According to a source, Luke Fleurs, 24, attempted to battle for the possession of his red Volkswagen Polo 8 GTI on the night he was shot and died.

On the night Luke Fleurs was fatally shot, two passengers were observed fleeing his red Volkswagen Polo 8 GTI. The Kaizer Chiefs defender died on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, as a result of a hijacking at a petrol station in Florida, Roodepoort, Gauteng.

Luke Fleurs attempted to fight back.

According to a Sunday World insider who saw video evidence of the event, Fleurs was pulled out of his car, which impressed social media followers, and attempted to fight.

The source stated:

“He dashed to his car, grabbed the door, and attempted to remove the hijacker, who was in the driver’s seat.” He battled them and attempted to drive his car, almost colliding with the petrol station’s walls. Fleurs cried, ‘No malome, you cannot do this,’ to the hijacker in the driver’s seat during the altercation. They overpowered him, and one of them shot him on the left side of his chest from close range.”

According to the informant, before Fleur attempted to keep his automobile, two small boys escaped the vehicle as the two hijackers approached, running to another part of the petrol station.
Local fans ask why Fleurs was shot.

While authorities acknowledged the continuing investigation, supporters used social media to express their regret and confusion about the tragedy.

El Khumalo believes Fleurs should have left his automobile behind. “Ahh eish, he should have just let it go.”

Bafana Joseph conveyed his anguish. “It’s very sad. “To lose your life for something you worked for.”
